Welcome to Heart of Montana Farm in the Dell

We’re so glad you found us!

If you’re new to the farm, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to provide a lifelong home in an agricultural setting for adults with developmental disabilities.

The farm will provide residential and vocational opportunities for our neighbors, our friends, and our families who are vital members in our Central Montana community.

On August 30th 2019 the Farm in the Dell board members and city commissioners got together and signed a 30 year lease for Fergus County Poor Farm Loop to become Heart of Montana Farm in the Dell.

HOM Farm in the Dell is located in Lewistown, MT on Joyland Road just off the truck by-pass along the beautiful Big Spring Creek. Our future plans will offer many job opportunities for our residents and our community.

Much labor has commenced since becoming farm in the dell. The property has a Large preexisting barn, along with other outbuildings which Heart of Montana Farm in the Dell has worked hard to make usable again. some of the additions to the farm include a semi-permanent hoop house structure used to extend the growing season, a well drilled, along with a new storage shed, up dated fencing. Necessary farming equipment collected, and community events hosted. Various farm animals such as cows, sheep, turkeys, Edith the mule, and our 5 peachicks have called the farm home.

All of these improvements and additions were made possible by public and private donations, grants, and fundraisers. We are currently working to raise funds to construct a home for our future farmers and are so thankful for every contribution that will benefit it!

At the Heart of Montana Farm in the Dell, we are committed to providing a nurturing and empowering environment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Our farm is a place where everyone is encouraged to explore their potential and contribute to the agricultural activities. Farm in the Dell believes in offering an enriching, safe and sustainable environment for our residents and our community.

At the farm, we don’t just grow produce for our community. We serve people with developmental disabilities who need people in their lives that understand them and have the time to work with them and give them purpose. Through making sure that they feel seen, heard, valued we can provide for the individuals that we serve with respect, acceptance, and friendship.
